Purchasing a Computer for use at Bloomsburg University
Tips are provided on the Residential Computing website. Important things to keep in mind:
- BU requires anti-virus software to be installed in order for your computer to work on the campus network. BU does not mandate that a specific anti-virus solution be installed; however, trials are not permitted.
- Computer purchase discounts are available for BU students through various vendors.
- There is no need to purchase Microsoft Office. Microsoft Office ProPlus software installs as well as Office Web Apps are available for free through Office 365.

Wireless Internet Access (WiFi)
Bloomsburg University provides a state-of-the-art 802.11a/g/n wireless network in academic buildings, residence halls, and campus apartments.. There is also full wireless coverage outside in the Academic Quad.
