Council of Trustees

Ramona H. Alley joined the Council of Trustees in 1983. A past chairperson of the Council of Trustees, she previously served as vice-chairperson and secretary. She has served on two presidential search committees as well as serving on the student trustee search committee several times.

A graduate of East Tennessee State University with a B. S. in education, social science and communication, Alley is a member of Pi Kappa Delta forensic fraternity and Alpha Delta Pi sorority at East Tennessee State University.

In the community, Mrs. Alley is a past member of WVIA Public Television Board of Trustees, where she served as secretary. She is a Berwick YMCA board of trustees member and has served as past president, where she also served on the board of directors for eight years and as secretary for two years. She chaired the YMCA’s 1993 capital campaign.

Mrs. Alley served two terms as president of the Columbia County Medical Auxiliary and was chair of the Berwick Hospital Charity Ball for two years. She served three years on the Board of Directors for Penn Woods Girl Scout Council. Alley also received the Leadership Award from the Berwick Chamber of Commerce and the Leadership Award for the Columbia-Montour Boy Scout Council where she serves on several committees.

Mrs. Alley served on the Pennsylvania Judicial Selection Board for Governor Robert Casey. She was Columbia County’s campaign chairperson for Governor Richard Thornburgh and the presidential campaign for Reagan-Bush in 1988.

Alley and her husband, Ali A. Alley MD a family practice physician and founder of Alley Medical Center in Berwick have five children, Albert J. Alley DO, Valerie Alley MD, Kenneth Alley, Andrew Alley, and Grand Alley Esq.
