The purpose of this page is to assist students with the use of BOLT – Bloomsburg Online Learning and Teaching.
BOLT stands for Bloomsburg Online Learning & Teaching. It is an online learning management system. Your instructors may use BOLT to teach class or to supplement face-to-face classes. If you're unsure if your instructor is using BOLT, you should ask them.

Use a recommended browser
Using one of the web browsers recommended by our vendor, Brightspace, reduces the possibility of encountering display issues in BOLT.
Clear your cache regularly
This can help resolve many issues in BOLT. Cache can affect what displays when you try to access different parts of BOLT. Regularly clearing your cache forces the web browser to load BOLT in a current state and not in a state that was recorded to your hard drive.
Set Notifications
Set up your notifications. BOLT allows you to set notifications so you receive alerts when course content and grades are available, and when new messages are posted to course discussions. You can set up notifications to go to your BU email or to your mobile phone via text message.
Make It Yours: It's Personal
You will be using BOLT throughout your college career at Bloomsburg University to post coursework and interact with students and instructors. Make your account personal: add a profile picture, make an ePortfolio, and sign up for myDesire2Learn to be able to take your ePortfolio with you outside of BOLT after you graduate.
