Information for Newly Accepted Honors Students

You're In! Now What?

First things first: In your Honors acceptance letter, you'll find instructions on how to tell us you're coming. Do that right away, so we can reserve your space.

Got that done? Great! Here's what you can expect next:

Look for a letter from us in the mail in late April or early May. It will be packed with important information, including move-in and orientation schedules, housing details, and more.

Separate instructions will arrive by email from the University about how to request a roommate. If you would like to request a roommate who is not in Honors, but would still like to live in the Honors Learning Community, please select the option “No” for the question “Would you like a random Honors roommate?” then select your roommate following the University’s instructions. Please note that due to the high demand for Honors housing, you may not be placed on the 3rd floor of Luzerne, but you will get a room on another floor, and you will still have round-the-clock access to the Honors Center. You will also have this 24-hour access if you opt not to live in the Honors Learning Community.

When you arrive on campus on your scheduled move in day, there will be signs that direct you to the Luzerne Residence Hall. There, you will be met by friendly Honors Student volunteers who will not only help you unload your car but carry everything up to your room while you get checked in.

Orientation activities will take place over the next few days. Please be aware that these activities are MANDATORY unless you have been excused by Dr. Vandivere.

We look forward to welcoming you in the fall!
