Five Ways You Can Stay Active in Honors

Your time in Honors doesn’t end on graduation day. We encourage you to remain active in Honors no matter how long you’ve been out of school or how far life has taken you. Here’s how:

1. Be a Mentor

As an Honors Alumni Mentor, you’ll be paired with a current Honors student who shares a common interest. Your job will be to simply connect with your mentee (in person or by phone or Skype) one or two times a month, offer support and counsel, answer questions, talk about career choices, and share your experience and know-how. Email us today for more information.

2. Give a Talk

Are you in the area or plan to be passing through? Let us know! We’d love to have you talk to our Honors students about your accomplishments and how your experience in the Honors College applies to your life now. You can do a formal presentation or simply answer questions in a small group setting.

3. Make a Gift

Your generous donation will help current students in very real and tangible ways. We’ll use your gift to improve our facilities and programming, while helping deserving students who might otherwise be unable to buy books, travel with the program, or even continue their education. You can donate online here. Simply type in BU Honors College under “Designation: Other.”

4. Send Us Your Story

Are you doing something you feel passionate about? Have you drawn your own road map for life? Are you doing now what you thought you would when you graduated? Send us your story. We may post it online or in print, or simply share it with our current group of students. you can be certain we’ll learn from and be inspired by your experience.

5. Network, Network, Network!

Follow us on Facebook to find old friends and meet new members of the Honors College, organize and attend alumni meet-ups, and post life notices and job announcements. And be sure to keep your contact information updated, so we know where to find you!

Once Honors, always Honors. Keep in touch!
