Bloomsburg University's PK-12 School Counseling Certificate provides a balance of academic and theoretical learning with a strong focus on practical application of knowledge, skills, and dispositions. The core faculty are a blend of current professionals in school counseling and other seasoned university professors who provide optimal learning opportunities. Our program is approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) and program completers are eligible to earn a Pennsylvania PK-12 School Counseling Certification.

To earn the PK-12 School Counseling Certificate, candidates must complete 9 core credits and the 30 credits track specific. Candidates interested in the M.Ed. in Education Leadership, PK-12 School Counseling track should visit www.bloomu.edu/gradschool/educational-leadership/school-counsel.
Graduate students must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Students who do not take classes in either the Fall and/or Spring semester(s) will be considered inactive in MyHusky. They are required to contact Mrs. Candy Ryan, Director of Institutional Graduate Recruitment or their Academic Advisor to be reactivated. Students have six calendar years to complete their chosen degree or certification program.
Upon acceptance, students desiring to transfer credits may make this request upon application to their chosen program. Upon approval, degree students may transfer up to a maximum of nine semester hours or parallel courses (determined by BU) from accredited institutions. These courses will be applied towards completing the degree requirements of the program. However, no courses will be transferred in which a grade less than a B was earned. Pass/fail grades are not acceptable.
