Hispanic Heritage Kick-Off — 12:30
Space is Limited. The Multicultural Center has temporarily moved to Columbia Hall Learning Community Center. Enter through the doors facing the basketball courts. The film “Yo Soy Boricua,” will be shown. Beginning with the vibrant celebration of the Puerto Rican parade, the film reveals humorous themes of family, language, and racism that shows a side of Puerto Rico absent from US history books. Food and refreshments will be provided (following university safety guidelines).

Denice Frohman — 7 p.m.
Denice Frohman, a Canto-Mundo Fellow, a poet, performer, and educator whose work has appeared in The BreakBeat Poets: LatiNext, Nepantla: An Anthology for Queer Poets of Color, The New York Times, ESPNW and garnered over 10 million views online. As a former Women of the World Poetry Slam Champion, she’s been featured on national and international stages from The White House to The Apollo, and to over 200 colleges and universities. She co-organized #PoetsforPuertoRico and currently lives in Philadelphia.
