Husky Dog Pound Business Competition

Making the winning pitch

More than 250 young entrepreneurs were put to the test, including roughly 150 high school students representing 18 schools, at Bloomsburg University’s second annual Husky Dog Pound — a Shark Tank-inspired business pitch competition with $25,000 in prizes. There were 100-plus BU students who also competed.

Competitors were encouraged to pitch products in product and service categories such as:

  • Entrepreneurship – pure business
  • Social Entrepreneurship – developing, funding, and implementing solutions to social, cultural, or environmental issues
  • Science and Technology – finding a unique approach to solve issues in the science and technology industry
  • Education – taking an educational approach in aiding customers with education or learning
