We will educate the campus community about the retention services and programs available to students.

Leadership Conferences

The Office of Diversity and Retention grants students the professional experience to attend various conferences across the State of Pennsylvania. These conferences provide the opportunity for students to network, receive scholarships, develop professional skills, and discover strategies that will enhance their leadership abilities.

The Robert D. Lynch Student Leadership Development Conference is available to students.

High School Conference on Diversity

Each year, the Office of Diversity and Retention hosts the High School Conference on Diversity. The conference focuses on the following learning outcomes:

  • Students and faculty will learn about diversity issues and concepts through activities, discussion and interactive learning sessions.
  • Students and faculty will have opportunities to share their views, experiences and ask questions related to diversity to foster continued growth and understanding of the topic.
  • Students and faculty will learn about tools and activities that they can utilize in their home school district and communities.

Throughout the day, schools are encouraged to share within breakout sessions what diversity activities and projects they have done within their own district and community over the past year. Faculty come together to share their ideas around diversity in their schools, discuss areas of need and come up with a plan on how they would tackle some of those areas. These notes and plans are developed and distributed to all who participate.
