CGA Executive Board

Steven Lopez - President (cgapres@bloomu.edu)

Hi Ya’ll, my name is Steven Lopez and I am honored to represent you as the CGA President. I am studying Psychology and Spanish for Heritage Speakers here at BU. I have been in the Community Government Association (CGA) since I was a freshman and am extremely grateful to be going into my last year as the student body president. I was fortunate enough to hold many positions within this organization and to bring concerns that my peers had to the senate. My main goal for this academic year is not only to make sure that everyone is heard, but to also create a better CGA. For me, I have learned that communication is important for anything to work and that is what I stress to my exec board, peers, and co-workers. To me, the job of the president is not only to lead by example, but to also prepare others to do the same. I want to help and prepare others so that one day they are successful and can impact others. This is not a solo task, so I ask that you work with your mentors and go out and make that change! If you ever want to talk or have any concerns, do not hesitate to contact me or visit my office in the Kehr Union! Let’s make this a great school year and never give up on your dreams!

Krystal Garcia - Vice President (cgavp@bloomu.edu)

My name is Krystal Garcia and I am the Vice-President for CGA. I am a sophomore Political Science and Anthropology double major with a minor in Gender Studies. I am a person of color first generation student with a passion for diversity and inclusion and a mission to do anything in my power to achieve equity on the BU campus. I oversee student concerns so please feel free to use your voice to empower yourselves and others by stopping by the CGA meetings or stopping by my office to share your BU experiences. I am a lover of persons with an open door. I am proud to be your student government Vice-President for the 2019/2020 academic year and excited to use this platform to pass my mic and empower your voices.

Elizabeth Lentz - Treasurer (cgatreas@bloomu.edu)

Hello everyone! My name is Lizzy Lentz and I am your new CGA Treasurer! I am majoring in Accounting and I am minoring in Spanish. I am involved in other organizations on campus such as the Accounting Association, Bloomsburg University Women’s Club Soccer, Zeigler Institute for Professional Development, Husky Ambassadors, and many other organizations. I am currently an on-campus representative and the Class of 2022 Treasurer for CGA. CGA means a lot to me because it allows students to be leaders for their peers and also allows students to interact with the administration side of Bloomsburg in a professional environment.

In high school, I was the treasurer of multiple organizations, an active member in National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, percussion section leader in concert and marching band, and captain on the girls varsity soccer team for two years. I am excited for this new position in CGA, and I cannot wait to be an advocate for the student body!

Brianna Vera - Secretary (cgasec@bloomu.edu)

Hello, my name is Brianna Vera. I am currently a junior at Bloomsburg University. I am a Pre-Physical Therapy major. I chose this major because I believe it is one of the most fitting jobs out there for me. I live to help people. I enjoy being able to assist those around me to my best ability. That is also why I chose to join CGA my first semester of my freshman year. Coming in, I was told that CGA was FOR the students and FOR the community so what better place for me then here. I began as an on-campus representative, then my sophomore year became Sophomore Class Secretary and now I am truly honored to serve as Executive Board Secretary. I am a very hardworking and ambitious individual. Coming in as a freshman I was gifted the Board of Governs full tuition scholarship for my strong and tenacious work ethic throughout my academic career. The person I am, the energy I give off is of someone that only wants the best in whatever it is that I do. I am more than excited to show this student body what not only I but the rest of this executive board has to offer. GO HUSKIES!

Rebecca Levandowski- Historian (rhl35398@huskies.bloomu.edu)

I am a sophomore at Bloomsburg University, with a double major in Criminal Justice and Sociology. My hometown is Glen Lyon, PA and I graduated from Greater Nanticoke Area High School in 2018. I became a part of the Community Government Association as an on-campus representative the beginning of my freshman year. I wanted to get involved on campus and in the community, and this was the perfect opportunity to do so. I enjoy helping others and taking any chance I can to improve not only myself but the CGA as a whole. I am interested in volunteering and have accumulated several hundred hours over my high school career and I am excited to continue that throughout college. I also help out at the BU Women’s Center whenever I can, and I am currently a part of the Homecoming Committee. CGA is an amazing group of people who I look forward to working with all year.

Dario D'Amato - Parliamentarian (djd83010@huskies.bloomu.edu)

Howdy Huskies! My name is Dario D'Amato and I am excited to serve as your CGA Parliamentarian for the 2019-2020 academic year. Originally, I hail from a small borough about 30 minutes outside of Bloomsburg known as Conyngham. I am a graduate from the Hazleton Area class of 2017 of which I was the Salutatorian. Currently, I am a junior at Bloomsburg with a dual major in Physics and Mathematics. As a firm believer in academia, I am a BOG scholar and have been fortunate to join the Bloomsburg University Honors program. Outside of the classroom, I am an active participant in undergraduate research in the Physics department's UltraColdBloom Laboratory. Other times, you may find me at the front desk of the Community Activities (CA) office or at club meetings and activities for several different groups on campus, including the BU Wishmakers and the Society of Physics Students.

As a member of the CGA Executive Board, I fully intend to work for the interests of you, the students! As such, I implore you all to get involved with CGA and take an active role in the organization!
