CGA Executive Board

Brianna Vera - President (cgapres@bloomu.edu)

Hello, my name Is Brianna Vera but most people just call me Bri. I am a 4th year, Biology Health Science major with a minor in Psychology. I am from Bethlehem, Pennslyvania, which some of you may know better as, a city right next to Dorney Park. I am a Dominican Ecuadorian woman, first-generation student, and I embrace it all the way! I have a little puppy named Mila that you probably see running around this campus like she owns the place but she is a true sweetheart. I am also involved with the BOG scholars and the National Council of Negro Women Bloomsburg Section.

CGA holds a large place in my heart as I have been a part of this organization for all 4 years of being on this campus and I share the same excitement about CGA semester after semester. I have held positions like on-campus senate, off-campus senate, 2021 Class Secretary, Executive Secretary, and now I serve you as the CGA President. CGA is such a fun time to learn about yourself and learn about how to be the most effective leader you can be. I encourage all students to get involved with CGA even if it is for a year, just so that for one whole year your voice is getting heard in every corner of this campus. Your voices are important and that is what I deem one of the most beautiful aspects CGA offers their students. Believe that you can make a difference because you can!

Gibryl Livingston - Vice President (cgavp@bloomu.edu)

Hello All!  I am Gibryl Livingston, a second-year theatre major and the Executive Assistant for the Community Government Association.  I work closely with the President and Vice-President to make sure they have everything they need to help us successfully support the students.  This gives me the opportunity to advocate, inform, and encourage students to use their voices and push for everyone to be heard.  I am an opened minded individual who lives to serve the people, so please feel free to contact me with any concerns about your life at Bloomsburg and I will do my best to help.

Kathryn Cassidy - Historian (kec68599@huskies.bloomu.edu)

Hello Huskies! My name is Katie Cassidy and I am ecstatic to serve as your CGA Historian throughout the 2020-21 school year. My roots are in Williamsport, PA and I graduated from the Williamsport Area high school in 2017. During high school I was super involved in athletics, music, the arts, theatre and served as the yearbook editor. Here in Bloomsburg, I spend most of my days in Bakeless as an English Major and also working as a writing consultant in the WALES. I am also currently working on an independent research study to document the understudied dialect of central Pennsylvania. Otherwise you can find me in the rec or maybe catching some rays on the quad.

Being a member of executive board is important to me because through this position I am able to help voice the concerns of students and make sure they are heard and accommodated. CGA Executive board works for you and we want to hear any of your compliments, concerns or even questions. Please feel more than welcome to reach out to any of us to voice your questions and/or concerns.

Dario D'Amato - Parliamentarian (djd83010@huskies.bloomu.edu)

Howdy Huskies! My name is Dario D'Amato and I am excited to serve as your CGA Parliamentarian for the 2020-2021 academic year. Originally, I hail from a small borough about 30 minutes outside of Bloomsburg known as Conyngham. I am a graduate from the Hazleton Area class of 2017 of which I was the Salutatorian. Currently, I am a senior at Bloomsburg with a dual major in Physics and Mathematics. As a firm believer in academia, I am a BOG scholar and have been fortunate to join the Bloomsburg University Honors program. Outside of the classroom, I am an active participant in undergraduate research in the Physics department's UltraColdBloom Laboratory. Other times, you may find me at the front desk of the Community Activities (CA) office or at club meetings and activities for several different groups on campus, including the BU Wishmakers and the Society of Physics Students.

As a member of the CGA Executive Board, I fully intend to work for the interests of you, the students! As such, I implore you all to get involved with CGA and take an active role in the organization! Please feel free to reach out to myself or any other member of the CGA Exec team, as we hope to expand the voices of all students. Thank you, and I hope to see you around campus!

Hi-ya Huskies! My name is Colin McIntyre and I am the Student Trustee for the Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania's Council of Trustees. I am a senior studying Computer Science. This will be my first year working with CGA and I am excited to become more involved in student engagement on campus. I have also served on the Food Service Committee, and Shuttle Bus Committee, along with being a member of the Honors College, and the Project Manager for the BloomBus Application. My hometown is Marietta, PA where I graduated from the Susquehanna Waldorf School. On-campus you will find me at the upper campus community building where I work as a CORE Community Assistant for Residence Life.

I feel blessed to call Bloomsburg University my home and I look forward to working with the Council of Trustees and CGA Executive Board to improve the experience of campus life and learning for all students.

Sabina Bower - Senate Rep. (sb95113@huskies.bloomu.edu)

Hey Bloom. My name is Sabina Bower. I’m beyond thrilled and honored to have a chance to not only represent on-campus students but CGA Senators this year as a Senate Representative on the Executive board. I’m a freshman living in Elwell Hall and I’m from South Williamsport, PA. In high school, I was a member of Future Business Leaders of America as the Vice President of my chapter and competed then placed at the national level. On top of FBLA, I was a dancer, played volleyball, and threw/jumped in Track and Field. Now, I’m a Business Administration major and a Political Science minor. My hope is that the education I earn here will set me up for a prosperous career as an entrepreneur and a lobbyist for interest groups I’m passionate about (and even hold a government state office). Outside the classroom, I’m a member of Phi Beta Lambda as their member coordinator, an emerging scholar, and an intern for Congressman Matt Cartwright’s re-election campaign. In my free time, I make podcasts on my show, Real Talk with B, make YouTube videos, and run an Etsy and Redbubble store where I sell digital designs.

Being a member of CGA will be one of my greatest highlights here at Bloomsburg University. Having the opportunity to amplify my fellow peer’s voices and let their opinions be heard is a responsibility that I do not take lightly. I believe as students; we are interdependent and what affects one student will affect another and our voices are more powerful together. With that being said, I want to state that my door is always open for any concerns or questions that you may have. Thank you, and I hope to see you around our beautiful campus and cheers to starting off a great year!

Cade Bleashka - Senate Rep. (cab10998@huskies.bloomu.edu)

Hello everyone! My name is Cade Bleashka and I’m a Student Representative to the Executive Board for CGA. Currently, I’m a sophomore and have been involved in CGA since my first semester here. If you see me around on campus, I’ll likely be running from place to place trying to keep track of what I’m doing. I’m a part of the ZIPD Program, Honors, and work at WALES and for the secretary in the history department.

If you see me, say hi and also tell me any concerns you have related to campus. The Student Representative still serves as a Senator for CGA, and my job there is to fight for you and help you to make change on this campus. And I love that job—so I’m always glad to do it.
