B the Best U

B the Best U

B the Best U is a campaign through the Office of the Dean of Students dedicated to reinforcing positive choices and decisions. The campaign promotes community, civility, and respect with students both on and off campus through posters, social media, B the Best U Day events, walk and knocks, in addition to active and passive (tabling) programming. The annual campaign peeks each year in April with a weeklong B the Best U WEEK including a fair-like event leading up the annual Block Party event. Annually, B the Best U events include, but are not limited to:

The Pledge

The over-arching theme of the programming and outreach is to have students make a pledge to B their Best U at BU. This is the pledge:

• I pledge to be the best representation of myself and the University and promote service to the community, civility, and respect…especially during the upcoming “Block Party” event!
• I pledge to be a good friend and get help if I see a friend or anyone in a potentially dangerous situation!
• I pledge to stay healthy and remember why I chose to come to Bloomsburg University for my academic pursuits!

Eliza Parson

The Office of the Dean of Students B the Best U campaign, notified by the BUPD, recognizes the positive contribution of Eliza Parson. When Eliza learned about a sick child in our community, she decided to take action. To help brighten a challenging holiday season, Eliza organized other students to help her make cards for the little girl and her family. Her work embodies the spirit of community that B the Best U strives for, and reinforces that Huskies help others.

So on behalf of B the Best U, the division of Student Affairs, and the Office of the Dean of Students, we thank Eliza for her dedication to helping others in her community.
