Research Interests

Regulation of multidrug resistance genes in Candida species and Saccharomyces cerevisiae, biodiversity of fermentation microorganisms in lambic beer.

In 2016, Dr. Henry began work in a new area of research in collaboration with former Bloomsburg University students that are currently working with local and regional brewers. Initially, they seek to isolate and identify a variety of microorganisms that are responsible for the fermentation of lambicstyle (sour) beers. Once isolated, the group will attempt to determine the contribution each microorganism plays in the overall flavor and alcohol content in these types of beverages.
