Academic Advisement

BU's Academic Advisement Center offers individualized and group support for student academic decision-making to all Undeclared students. Assists students who wish to explore majors/minors and can be of invaluable assistance to the student advisee during the process of defining and evaluating the many goals and options for academic success. This office also offers assistance to non-degree and non-traditional students as well as students currently serving in the military and veterans.

Academic Coaches

Academic Coaches meets individually with students to assess strengths and areas of growth and provide encouragement so that students can excel. They work with students on motivation, organization, time management, personal accountability and basic academic skills, and then help students create and implement plans for success.

Disability Services

BU's Department of Disability Services offers a range of activities designed to support and enhance the performance of students with disabilities.

Developmental Instruction

Provides academic advisement, instruction, tutoring and other support to assist students in academics and maximize their potential for success in college, especially students entering through Act 101/EOP.

TRiO Student Support Services

TRiO offers tutoring, advisement, guidance and support specific to students' unique learning and personal needs.

TRiO assists eligible students with:

  • academic assistance through master tutors in English/writing, study skills, math, sciences, social sciences and more ...
  • individual confidential counseling for personal concerns, financial issues, etc.
  • special access to cultural activities in the region
  • personalized academic advising for undeclared students

Tutoring

University Tutorial Services offers tutoring in a variety of courses provided by students who have distinguished themselves by superior academic performance. Tutoring is provided free upon request by application.

Writing and Literacy Engagement Studio

WALES offers one-on-one, drop-in consulting sessions to students of all disciplines. Consultants help students with cover letters, resumes, presentations, and Web sites. No appointments are needed.
