John Thomas

John Thomas, a criminal justice major from Harvey’s Lake, was appointed to Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania’s Council of Trustees. The letter of appointment was signed May 17, 2017 by Gov. Tom Wolf.

Thomas, vice president of the class of 2020, is a Community Government Association on-campus representative and chair of the BU Student Recreation Center committee. He also completed leadership certification levels one through three from the Bloomsburg University Center for Leadership and Engagement. He serves on the BU concert committee, the parking appeals committee and the health advisory board. Thomas is also president of Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity pledge class of 2017 and is an Alpha Phi Omega fraternity brother. He has been recognized by the BU residence life office for 19 hours of service as a campus leader and is a member of the Developing Ambitious Student Leaders group.

A 2016 graduate of Lake Lehman High School and senior class vice president, Thomas was awarded the 2015-16 Good Citizenship Award; was a member of the National Honor Society; earned the rank of Eagle Scout and won the 2015 NASA certificate of achievement.
