About the EIPA Written Test

The EIPA Written Test is a comprehensive multiple-choice test that evaluates the interpreter’s understanding of information that is critical to performing with students in an education setting. The test consists of 177 questions and takes approximately one and a half to three hours to complete. This computer-based test is administered through the Internet. A passing score on the EIPA Written Test is not needed in order to take the EIPA Performance Assessment.

Fees

There are two fees per exam: the test fee and the proctoring fee.
Test Fee -- payable online to EIPA at the time of registration.

You will need your EIPA receipt to complete BU’s online registration for a seat in the Testing Center. Remember to print out your EIPA receipt and bring it with you to your confirmed test appointment.

BU Proctoring Fee – payable online when you register for a seat in BU’s Testing Center. This fee is non-refundable. The payment options for registering online are Visa or MasterCard. Upon successful registration you will receive an email confirmation. Print your confirmation receipt and bring it with you to your test appointment.

ID Requirements

Government-issued, picture ID with signature containing both your photograph and signature (driver’s license, passport book, state ID card). Upon registration you will receive an email confirmation. Print your confirmation receipt and bring it with you to your test appointment.
