SVUR Symposium Presenter Instructions

Bucknell Undergraduate Researcher

Students who wish to have their abstracts considered for selection as one of four oral presentations will have the opportunity to indicate this during the registration process. One abstract from each of the four categories (Clinical and Transitional Research, Social Science and Humanities, Biological Sciences, and Natural Science and Engineering) will be selected for oral presentation and will receive an award. Abstracts will be judged based on clarity, extent to which they clearly describe all aspects of the project, and the quality of the overall project and those selected will be notified by July 19. Abstracts should be written for an educated but multidisciplinary audience.

Posters should be 36” x 48” or smaller. Posters will be judged on the extent to which the poster conveys the significance of the work, the clarity and quality of the oral presentation, and the overall quality of the project. Please plan to stand next to your poster throughout the time period assigned to you, and have a 2-3 minute oral summary of your work prepared to present to the judges and other visitors. Judges will award one poster with each of the four categories a top research in that category award. The audience will also have the opportunity to vote and award one “Audience Favorite” award.
