Dismissal, Academic Probation and Procedures

Once final grades are posted, those students who fail to meet the good academic standing criteria are subject to probation or dismissal from the institution. The relevant academic policies and information may be found at the following links:

Students are required to view their grades via the MyHusky application. Failure to review grades via MyHusky is not considered to be a reason for appeal of dismissal from the institution. Failure to have a current and accurate address on file in the Office of the Registrar is also not considered to be reason for an appeal of dismissal from the institution.
  • All students who wish to be reinstated must submit a letter of appeal.
  • Dismissed students are permitted to take summer courses to improve their academic standing.
  • A student whose appeal is denied may continue with their summer courses and the Academic Review Board will review their record at the end of the summer term.
  • However, taking summer courses does not guarantee reinstatement for the fall as regular probation/dismissal policies are not in effect for the summer term.
  • The university is not responsible for students who enter into a lease agreement prior to their dismissal or the denial of their appeal.

Students who are dismissed from the institution are sent a certified letter of dismissal from the Office of the Registrar. These letters will be mailed to students as soon as final grades are posted. Students have the right to appeal. Appeals are due in the Office of the Registrar no later than Thursday, June 6. Letters of appeals should be emailed as well as a hard copy sent to the Office of the Registrar.

Students who have an “I” or “X” grade are evaluated for academic standing and are still eligible for probation or dismissal based upon the remaining grades posted to their record.
