Drone Wars Competition at BloomCON

BLOOMSBURG—The Second Annual Drone Wars Competition will take place at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania’s BloomCON conference on Saturday, March 30, at 1 p.m. on the Academic Quad. In the case of inclement weather, the competition will take place in the Centennial Hall gym. Tickets for BloomCON are available at http://bloomcon.cc.

Army Cyber Soldiers will offer two-hour Drone Hacking workshops on Friday, March 29, from 9 to 10:50 a.m., 12 to 1:50 p.m., and 2 to 3:50 p.m. in Ben Franklin Hall, room 115. A workshop will be offered on Saturday, March 30, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Hartline Science Center, room G40. The winning team from last year’s competition will host a workshop on Friday, March 29, from 3 to 6 p.m. in Hartline Science Center, room 108.

During these workshops, students will learn how to hack drones from some of the best cyber soldiers in the world. They will use custom tools to reverse engineer frequencies in order to take over and fly a drone.  

BloomCON is Bloomsburg University’s annual digital forensics, cybersecurity, and hacking conference. The conference hosts a variety of speakers and features unique workshops and cybersecurity challenges.

Drone Wars is jointly sponsored by the U.S. Army and BloomCON.
