Actress in The Book of Mormon to speak for Women’s History Month

BLOOMSBURG—Bloomsburg University will present a lecture by Veladya Chapman for Women’s History Month on Tuesday, March 19, at 6 p.m. in the Kehr Union Building, Multicultural Center. This event is free and open to the public.

Chapman is an American actress, best known for her role in the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical The Book of Mormon, as well as her popular YouTube channel, Earth Mama Medicine. She also guest-starred in roles on series like CBS’ Instinct.

Chapman graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a bachelor’s degree in acting and musical theatre. She also trained at the historic Rhodopi International Theatre Laboratory in Smolyan, Bulgaria, where she became versed in Greek theatre styles, puppetry, mask work, and Suzuki movement. While working as a professional actress, Chapman attended the Institute for Transformational Nutrition to become a certified holistic nutritionist.

Within her first year on social media, Chapman attracted more than 100,000 highly-engaged followers and subscribers. Chapman now helps heal people from all over the world through her books, educational YouTube videos, personalized wellness plans, and public speaking.
