Student Loan Doctor to speak for Women’s History Month

BLOOMSBURG—Bloomsburg University will present a lecture by Sonia Lewis for Women’s History Month on Thursday, March 7, at 6 p.m. in Carver Hall, Gross Auditorium.

Lewis is the CEO of the award-winning business, The Student Loan Doctor LLC, an author and speaker. With over nine years of experience in higher education and financial aid, she is considered the people’s expert for all matters related to student loan debt repayment.

Lewis is an expert speaker across all audiences. She has shared her expertise at The White House Briefing on Advancing Equity for Women and Girls of Color, Black Enterprise, RT America, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., Essence Magazine, KYW News Radio 1060 AM, Fox 29, and The BET Network. She has hosted educational workshops across the nation and has self-published three times.

The Student Loan Doctor LLC was designed to educate people on student loan debt and provide assistance in making a tangible plan for repayment. The goal of the business is to help a generation of borrowers become free of debt to promote social mobility and wealth building.

The company has been recognized as the first African American and woman-owned student loan repayment company in the country. The business has also received a citation by the City of Philadelphia because of the business’s impact within the Philadelphia community.

The BU Women’s Resource Center is sponsoring the event.
