BU presents free holiday music show

BLOOMSBURG— Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania will present Steve Clickard & The Clickard Consortium, Little Big Band for a Christmas show, “Noel Nouvelet” on Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 7:30 p.m. at Carver Hall, Gross Auditorium. The show is free and open to the public.

The evening will open with the Steve Adams Trio playing a jazz version of the Nutcracker. Then the Clickard Consortium will play original jazz arrangements from its latest CD of traditional Christmas carols, including; Christmas Time Is Here, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Here We Come A-Wassailing, The Holly And The Ivy, It Came Upon A Midnight Clear, O Come, O Come Emmanuel, Angels We Have Heard On High and Noel Nouvelet.

"Noel Nouvelet" is a traditional French Christmas and New Year's carol. The song was translated into English years ago as "Sing We Now of Christmas," though the lyrics are somewhat different.
