Department of English partners with WVIA-TV for sneak preview event

BLOOMSBURG— Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania’s Department of English is partnering with WVIA-TV to present a sneak preview screening of an episode of the PBS series “The Great American Read” on Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 7 p.m. in Centennial Hall, room 218. Following the screening of the program, there will be an audience discussion. The event is free and open to the public.

The episode to be screened is titled “Heroes”  and traces the theme of heroic characters through such popular novels as George Orwell’s “1984,” Joseph Heller’s “Catch 22,” and Ralph Ellison’s “Invisible Man.”

Everyone in attendance will receive a “Great American Read” bookmark and have the chance to enter a drawing for additional prizes from WVIA-TV.
