Bloomsburg University hosting mental health and substance abuse panel

For Immediate Release: March 29, 2017

BLOOMSBURG— Mental health and substance abuse are two important topics in today’s society and Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania is hosting a panel discussion about “Mental Health and Substance Abuse” on Thursday, March 30, at 5 p.m. in KUB Multipurpose Room A. This event is free and open to the public and refreshments will be provided.

With the challenges of mental health, there is a potential increase in the use and abuse of illegal substances. Abusing drugs and alcohol can increase the complexity of mental health issues. This problem can create a complex and vicious cycle. In this panel discussion, participants will raise awareness on these issues, talk about the challenges of this cycle and solutions to combat it.

This panel discussion is a “Think about it Thursday” event. These events are a BU Health and Wellness collaboration with the departments of nursing and education and the McDowell Institute.
