Department of Mathematics, Computer Science and Statistics

Bloomsburg University's Department of Mathematical and Digital Sciences, led by 24 full-time faculty members holding doctoral degrees from a number of prestigious institutions, is committed to preparing graduates for rewarding careers in mathematics, computer science, statistics and digital forensics.

Our faculty members are also active in various research areas, publish articles and textbooks, and maintain strong connections to local industry.

In addition, our department offers a program supporting teacher certification in secondary education mathematics, as well as career-enhancing minors in statistics and computer science, including a web development track.

Programs of Study

  • Computer Science — covers core areas of computer science with an emphasis on the design, analysis, and production of complex and reliable software systems.
  • Digital Forensics — prepares students for careers as digital forensic specialists who can work with law enforcement, homeland security agencies, law firms and private companies.
  • Mathematics — encourages, promotes critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and articulation of mathematical ideas.
