Department of Exceptionality Programs

Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania

The Department of Exceptionality Programs at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania is seeking applicants for an ongoing pool of candidates to fill emergency and temporary openings in the areas of Special Education (including student teacher supervision), Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (including student teacher supervision), and ASL/English Interpreting. Performance expectations will include documented evidence of effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities, continued scholarly growth, and service to the University and/or community. A Master’s Degree, certification in the appropriate field (if applicable), and teaching and/or interpreting experience are the required qualifications. Preference will be given to applicants who have relevant teaching, supervisory, or interpreting experience that meet program area needs as well as experience working with diverse populations. Finalists for positions must communicate well and successfully complete an interview process and/or teaching demonstration. Credentials will be kept on file for 24 months with the option of renewing at that time. Prior to final offer of employment, the selected candidate will be required to submit to a background check, including but not limited to employment verification, educational and other credential verification, Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, and criminal background check.

Recommendation for hiring is needed from a majority of the regular, full-time faculty within the Department of Exceptionality Programs.
